About the Role:

As a Greenhouse Specialist at AppHarvest, you will be joining a team at the forefront of reinventing sustainable agriculture by ensuring the successful growth, harvesting, and packaging of our produce.

Hourly Rate: $13.00 and 100% company paid insurance premiums

What You’ll Do in the Greenhouse:

• Perform de-leafing, pruning, lowering, truss support, harvesting and other jobs required to maintain the plants optimal conditions
• Conduct plant maintenance to enable the plants to develop optimally
• Assist with greenhouse preparation and clean-up while adhering to strict industry standards
• Assist the Integrated Pest Management Team by placing beneficial insects on the crop
• Report pests, diseases, and other abnormalities in the crop
• Adhere to all current SOP’s, procedures, inspections, and quality requirements
• Adhere to the Greenhouse dress code and FDA regulations
• Perform additional tasks as assigned

What You’ll Do in the Packhouse :

• Pack produce in shipping boxes per supervisor’s instruction
• Adhere to all current SOP’s, procedures, inspections, and quality requirements
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area
• Report food safety and quality problems to your supervisor
• Adhere to the Packhouse dress code and packing regulations

What We’re Looking For:

• Ability to perform work at varying heights up to 15 feet on a raised trolley platform
• Ability and willingness to work in a Tobacco Free environment
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with changing humidity and temperature
• Ability to identify fruits based on color variations
• Flexibility to work 40+ hours weekly (which may include weekend work)
• A motivated team-player with strong communication skills, attention to details and quality-focused
• Agriculture experience is preferred but not required

Working conditions / Physical Requirements :

• Comfortable working around Bees
• Ability to lift and exert force of up to 50 lbs. occasionally, 20 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. constantly as part of lifting and moving product and equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, twist, bend, sit, enter data into a computer. May require sustained repetitive motion in temperatures ranging between 80- 90 degrees in the Greenhouse and 55 -65 degrees in the Packhouse
• Must have a reliable form of transportation
• Flexibility to work 40+ hours weekly (which may include occasional weekend work)
• Must be comfortable working near moving mechanical parts
• Must be authorized to work in the US
