Job Description

About Role: 

As an IT Site Supervisor at AppHarvest, you will be joining a team at the forefront of redefining the future of agriculture by ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operations of the AppHarvest Information Technology systems that support organizational core functions. In the first 90 days you can expect to support existing projects involving the installation and configuration of LAN/WAN technologies.  Support greenhouse operations.  Plan, implement, and maintain efficient LAN and Wireless services to support the current needs and ensure flexibility for extensive growth.  Maintain and expand current access control and implement a new camera system.   

What You’ll Do: 

  • POC for all IT related support issues and improvements.
  • Supervise two IT Site Support Technicians.
  • Manage time off and overtime/weekend support schedule 
  • Support Greenhouse and Packhouse operations.
  • Install, configure, and maintain servers and network systems.
  • Oversee system performance and troubleshooting issues.
  • Perform system upgrades following new releases.
  • Administration of Azure AD, Office 365, and other like systems.
  • Monitor and maintain critical systems such as Fortinet switches and firewalls, servers, etc.   
  • Collect and analyze data to optimize performance.
  • Make upgrades and repairs as needed.
  • Ensure network connectivity throughout the site's LAN/WAN infrastructure. 
  • Stay aware of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
  • Assist with new user onboard
  • Provide end user support.
  • Conduct user training on an as-needed basis.
  • Maintain company Backup and Disaster Recovery Plan.
  • Build internal technical documentation, manuals and IT operating procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant field; or two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with a ticketing/ITSM system.
  • Experience in an IT support and supervisory role in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with Azure Cloud services a plus.
