Mid-Day Crop Care Specialist

About the Role:

As a Mid-day Crop Care Specialist at AppHarvest, you will be joining a team at the forefront of reinventing sustainable agriculture by ensuring the successful growth and development of produce within our greenhouse by de-leafing, removing ground fruits, and assisting with general greenhouse operations.

Required Schedule:  Monday - Friday 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Shift (Some Weekend Required)

Hourly Rate:  $13.00

What does success look like:

• Ability to perform the tasks of de-leafing, ground fruit removal and other jobs required to maintain the plants optimal conditions
• Ability to de-leaf a full row of plants every hour in temperatures ranging from 85 – 110 degrees
• Adherence to a strict daily attendance policy
• Assist with greenhouse preparation and clean-up while adhering to strict industry standards
• Report pests, diseases, and other abnormalities in the crop
• Follow all safety standard operating procedures (SOP), policies, rules, regulations, etc.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications for success:

• Ability to work Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM and occasional weekends
• Prior experience in working in a warehouse, a production facility or distribution center
• Ability to stand, walk, twist, bend, sit, enter data into a computer, and/or frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds (may require sustained repetitive motion)
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with changing humidity and temperature
• A positive, motivated team-player with strong communication skills, attention to details and quality-focused

Working conditions / Physical Requirements:

• Must be comfortable working in temperatures ranging between 85 -110 degrees
• Must be comfortable working at heights up to 15 feet
• Comfortable working around and not allergic to Bumble Bees
• Ability to stand for a full shift on concrete floors
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and bend
• Must be able to work at a fast pace and must be detailed oriented
• Must have a reliable form of transportation
• Open availability to work weekends
• Must be authorized to work in the US
• Must be comfortable working near moving mechanical parts
