SUMMARY

Nexamp is seeking an Associate to join our growing solar Business Development team in our Chicago office. Reporting to the Director, Business Development, the Associate will identify, originate, and develop new solar opportunities in the Nexamp target markets. Candidates should possess a basic understanding of renewable energy and a strong interest and passion for solar energy project development. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree and an ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn Nexamp’s project site selection parameters and development approach.
  • Source new project sites using direct mailers and cold calls.
  • Evaluate potential ground and rooftop solar sites using geographic information system (GIS) applications.
  • Maintain detailed reports using Salesforce and other applications.
  • Build and preserve relationships with property owners and potential partners.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Finance and Legal teams to identify potential project flaws.
  • Understand and represent Nexamp values and business strategy.
  • Shadow and coordinate with project developers.
  • Actively participate in regular team meetings.
  • Generate proposals and outreach materials to support project development
  • Provide general administrative assistance to the Business Development team as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, hands-on, results-oriented, and a team player. Key qualifications as follows:

  • Commitment to Nexamp's mission and a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today.
  • Bachelors or relevant degree.
  • Technologically savvy, and experience using Microsoft Office Products, as well as Google Earth (or similar mapping tool).
  • Comfortable with persuasive communication style including cold-calling potential customer prospects.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects, initiatives, and data.
  • Motivated, energetic, and eager to learn new concepts and skills.
