Job Description

OVERVIEW
We are looking for a motivated, highly organized and detail-oriented individual to oversee our day-to-day accounts payable operations and ensure all compliance requirements for SOX. The ideal candidate will be system savvy, meticulous, personable, and able to both take direction and take initiative. This role requires a highly-motivated individual that can adapt to a rapidly changing and exciting start-up environment. This position reports to the Controller. 




Responsibilities

  • Establish and monitor performance and reporting metrics for the accounts payable cycle
  • Review, redesign and transform processes that scale with company growth and ensures adherence to policies, guidelines, and internal controls
  • Maximize use and functionality of enhanced systems and minimize manual work
  • Daily management of full cycle Accounts Payable process including vendor database, vendor invoices, weekly payments and employee reimbursements
  • Own and monitoring workload to ensure high accuracy of coding transactions, maintain low backlog of unprocessed transactions
  • Manage travel & expense reimbursements and corporate credit card processes and policies
  • Manage annual 1099 reporting process
  • Support monthly closing of AP Module, provide support for the month end accrual and related entries, account reconciliations ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Support accounting functions including maintenance of general ledger and accounts payable sub-ledger; ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Assist with the coordination and gathering of documents to support auditor’s requests
  • Handle various other accounting duties as requested

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in Accounts Payable
  • Strong computer and business solution software skills (SAP, Concur, and Coupa experience is a plus)
  • Value business partnerships in a matrix-ed organization with proven experience in driving problems to a resolution
  • Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills to research and resolve inquires and respond in timely manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with vendors, employees and auditors
  • Understanding of basic accounting concepts
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related field is preferred
  • Skilled, detail-oriented and motivated to get the job done efficiently and in a timely mannerOV
