Where in the world of OVO will I be working?

Reporting to Christina Scott, OVO’s Chief Product & Technology Officer, you will provide technology and product leadership for our Colleague Technology teams.  

These teams provide the technology-enabled capabilities used across OVO, enabling them to do amazing things for each other and OVO members. 

This includes:

  • All the equipment and collaboration/productivity tools used by our people and in our offices
  • All the solutions that help our supporting functions, i.e. our people and our finances

What will I be doing?

  • Providing leadership for the OVO technology teams supporting our colleagues across OVO.  Responsible for strategic vision and decision-making, organisation design, delivery and budget.
  • Working with stakeholders and internal/external partners to ensure we use technology to delight our colleagues as the best place to work and enable them to deliver our plan zero mission.
  • Leading to build the Colleague team capabilities to effectively serve OVO at scale.
  • Managing and developing Heads of Dept along with key individual contributors.
  • Setting strategy and vision for a team of c. 65 technology specialists
  • Ensuring our audit and compliance position in the area of IT and access management is suitably adhered to and balanced with our culture of trust
  • Drive a technology eco-system that is based on excellent data, that drives the right decisions, including supporting cost optimisation and budget forecasting
  • Work closely with vendors and partners to ensure we maximise leveraging of commercials and value delivered
  • Building high performing teams with career paths and progression that develop the next generation of technical experts and thought leaders.
  • Building a technology culture of highly autonomous, intrinsically motivated, well-aligned teams.
  • Continually working towards technical excellence and industry best practices.
  • Helping to define the technology strategy to position OVO as a forward-thinking technology organisation.
  • Building and promoting our technology brand, including overseeing how we bring new talent to your technology teams.

Is this the job for me? 

Ideally you will have:

  • A strong technology background including corporate IT (employee equipment and collaboration/productivity tools e.g. Google Workspace) and finance/people planning solutions (i.e. Workday).
  • Experience building, running and leading high performing, autonomous technology teams (ideally at least 40 people).
  • A clear understanding of how technologies can be used to provide amazing and effective experiences that enable our colleagues.
  • An appreciation for agile and lean development.
  • A progressive and people-first management style, with a strong change management skill-set.  
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working with senior leaders across the business.
  • Experience integrating technology into the wider business strategy.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high growth, technology focussed organisation.
  • Proven experience of creating a forward-thinking technology culture.
