Division       Roads &amp; HighwaysLocation     Cape Town                                           REPORTS TOTechnical Principal or any other person appointed to supervise him/her from time to time.PRIMARY POSITION PURPOSE Provide and undertake complex design modelling and production tasks, prepare tender/construction documents and provide technical support services in meeting the requirements of the functional group and its clients.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES <ul><li>3D Modelling and detailing</li><li>Quality audit on outgoing drawings/ models</li><li>Modelling 3D, 4D and 5D models of projects for production</li><li>BIM implementation</li><li>Participating in office technical discussions and project delivery meetings</li><li>Mentor, train and provide technical support to junior staff</li><li>Conducting conceptual and detailed design and drafting in order to prepare technical drawings and documentation</li><li>Provide practical and economical solutions to project deliverables</li><li>Applying a deeper understanding of modelling principles to devise and deliver practical and economical solutions to problems</li><li>Maintain a high level of Computer Aided Drawing (CAD) and modelling expertise and engineering knowledge</li><li>Undertake supervisor role and lead on projects</li><li>Coordination of multi-disciplinary work on projects</li><li>Contribute to the overall management and profitably of the functional group</li><li>Ensure drawings and documentation are to the highest quality</li><li>Maintain client satisfaction</li><li>Strictly adhere to SMEC’s Management System (MS), quality standards and OHS procedures</li><li>Assist Project Managers with site queries and reporting solutions</li><li>Parametric Modelling</li><li>Model Federation</li><li>Automation and coding</li></ul>KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS <ul><li>Accuracy of drawings</li><li>Meeting set deadlines</li><li>Ability to work independently</li><li>Identifies and understands technical issues, problems and opportunities</li><li>Project delivery to meet client’s ToR/ BEP</li><li>Development of networks and contribution to team goals</li><li>Commercial awareness</li><li>Technical support and mentoring</li><li>ISO-19650 Understanding</li></ul>RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE  <ul><li>Professional Registration in Draughting (Autodesk Certified)</li><li>Minimum of 10 years of professional experience</li><li>Minimum of 5 years in similar position</li><li>Some key experience in relevant projects</li><li>Proficiency in Revit, C3D, Bentley and any other discipline associated software essential</li><li>BIM360/ ACC and ProjectWise Proficiency</li><li>Modelling and detailing to required LOD outlined in BEP</li><li>Experience working on major infrastructure/ building projects</li><li>Ability to work well within team and positive attitude to your work</li><li>Strive to deliver projects on time and to budget</li></ul>We are proud of the brilliant minds we have at SMEC and are committed to ensuring that our people have the best opportunities and resources to learn, grow and succeed.
