DevOps Engineer

EnergyHub is looking to hire a DevOps / SRE / Infrastructure Engineer to help with our automation and reliability work. This role is fully remote, but you're encouraged to come into the Brooklyn office if you want! You'll be working closely with product engineers, security analysts, and implementation engineers. You'll be reporting to an engineering manager and be on a team that's also responsible for DevOps, Security, and IT functions.

Responsibilities

These are the types of tasks you will be working on day to day.

• Improve the safety and reliability of our system
• Write python tooling to make your own job easier
• Run the day to day ops of our platform - key rotations, instance scaling, security patches, etc
• Increase developer throughput by improving tooling for observability, monitoring, and deployment

Required Experience

The required experience reflects most of the skills you would need to be successful in your role. If you don't have this experience, but do have relevant related experience that would help you perform your job, please still apply!

• AWS experience
• Linux system administration skills
• Experience administering a CI/CD workflow
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools
• Experience working on a professional web development team
• Familiarity coding with Python, or a similar scripting language (eg. Ruby, JS, Golang)

None of this experience is in any way required, but will be a huge benefit to your success in this role. If you have any experience beyond this that you think will be a benefit in this role, please tell us about it!

• Ansible / AWS CloudFormation
• MongoDB database management
• Monitoring systems - Grafana, Datadog, Dynatrace, etc
• Python / Java - our developers work in these languages
• Experience with cloud networking - VPCs, bastions, ssh, etc
• Experience running containers in prod, especially AWS Fargate
