Job Description

ABOUT ZOOMO

At Zoomo, we’re pedalling hard for net-Zero, and our vision is to transition every urban delivery mile to light-electric vehicles. The world is shifting to on-demand delivery and we’re providing the wheels to make it happen.

Zoomo is the world’s leading provider of e-bikes for delivery, we’re a fast growing start-up with operations in the US, UK, France, Spain, Germany, Australia and we’re just getting started.

We’ve raised >US$95m and are a trusted partner to some of the world’s most innovative companies including Uber, Doordash, Gorillas and Getir. And now we’re looking for more passionate self-starters to grow with us.

Expect to join a fast paced and supportive environment where opportunities are unlimited and your career development is our priority.

THE ROLE

Zoomo's business in Australia aims to triple in size by mid-2022. That's why we are looking for a pragmatic problem solver to add some firepower to our energetic regional team. In this role you will work directly with the ANZ General Manager, owning Strategy & Planning for the region as well as accountability for our most exciting projects. You could be called upon to lead new market launches, pricing reviews, supply/demand planning, growth/ marketing and E2E customer experience improvement initiatives, and will be asked to drive projects independently.

If you are looking to gain experience across a broad variety of fields and pursue a career in start-ups or high growth businesses - this is the role for you.

Our team is made up of mad geniuses that know how to have fun. You’ll be working closely with bubble tea enthusiasts, Capybara lovers, surf addicts, gym junkies and table tennis champions. We're building the bike as we ride it, and you will too! But don't worry, you will have a close-knit team as your training wheels. If you care deeply about making the world a greener and better place, working with talented people and getting unparalleled career development experience - this is the role for you.

In this role you will be responsible for

  • Growth strategy - help us build a growth plan for the future, including answering the key questions
    • How many cities in ANZ should we expand to, to meet our growth targets? How should we operate in those cities?
    • Which business segments should we be focusing our sales efforts in, and how many deals do we need to make to meet our targets?
    • How should we position ourselves in front of individual customers? What's our right to win? Do we need to launch any new products? What's the size of the prize and how do we get it?
    • How do the answers to the above questions change as our talented engineering team makes more vehicles for us in 2022?
  • Supply and demand planning - actualise the business' top-down growth targets into a demand plan with workstreams, working closely with the General Manager and Supply Chain team
  • Project management - scope, implement and manage the performance of key cross-functional projects, ensuring the AU team is able to deliver on key results. Your projects could involve
    • Operational excellence - working with our Operations Manager to ensure our fleet operations run smoothly. Lending your problem solving expertise to improve warehouse efficiency, fleet health, supply chain effectiveness, service level adherence and reporting accuracy
    • New markets - working cross functionally to rapidly scale our operations in a new city. Lead the set up of all functions for launch including Hiring, Legal, Commercial, Marketing and Operations
    • New products and growth initiatives - working cross functionally to bring a new product to market and acquire customers
  • Business performance and planning - scope and coordinate the performance management metrics of the ANZ business, monitoring dashboards and processes to ensure we stay close to our targets
  • Team - be the voice of the ANZ Strategy & Planning team to our counterparts in Central functions e.g. Supply Chain, Hardware, Finance, Executive Leadership. Build your leadership qualities as you attract, hire and mentor new talent

Requirements

  • You have 2-4+ years of experience in a role where you use structured thinking and analysis to solve problems. Experience in professional services (management consulting, law, finance, engineering), high growth startups or mobility strategy/ops is preferred, but not essential
  • You’re a chameleon when it comes to flexing your communication style - you know when you need to be in the weeds or go high level depending on your audience, whether that's in the workshop, boardroom, at a cafe or on a Zoom call
  • You like building things from the ground up - not having a template lets you put your own spin on the answer and push the boundaries of what’s possible. You are excited by the thought of trying new strategies everyday while keeping a laser sharp focus on achieving results
  • You're data driven and like analysis - you build models to evaluate the value and costs of strategic initiatives. You use numbers to drive your decisions and are looking to develop your analytical skill set each day
  • You like leadership and are looking to manage a small team - you might not have managed a large team yourself, but you enjoy setting the standard and motivating juniors to deliver on projects and become the best versions of themselves
  • You’re aligned with Zoomo’s vision and purpose

Benefits

We are a startup in every sense of the word. Expect autonomy, visibility, pace, ground breaking technology, barriers to overcome, problems to solve. Do you want to be part of a huge growth story? Do you get your energy from seeing the direct impact of your work on customers who need our solution? If so, we want to talk to you!
