About the Job
- Your task will be to establish, structure, and lead the legal department of the company by designing and implementing internal processes and policies.
- Therefore, you act as the primary legal advisor to the management team and other departments and collaborate with external law firms and manage the legal budget.
- It is within your responsibility to ensure legal compliance across all aspects of the business, including corporate governance, employment, data protection, and regulatory issues.
- For this, you draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts (e.g. NDAs, supplier, customer, partnership agreements).
- You will handle legal risk assessment and mitigation strategies and support strategic business initiatives with legal insight, including M&A, fundraising, and international expansion.
- If applicable, there is the chance to lead and grow a team of legal professionals, providing mentorship and performance oversight.
- You have 5–10 years of professional legal experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments — ideally in the start-up or scale-up ecosystem.
- You are experienced in setting up or significantly shaping legal functions within a company, ideally with leadership or team management skills.
- You have a strong commercial and pragmatic legal mindset with a hands-on execution style.
- You convince us with your excellent communication and negotiation skills (in German and English) and are able to work collaboratively across departments.
- It is a plus if you have relevant work experience and expertise in the field of European waste regulation.
- Additionally, you show us a high level of motivation and ownership, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
