The opportunity

Opus One is seeking an experienced Delivery Manager responsible for the successful delivery of customer engagements through the management and leadership of the solution delivery team in the Professional Services department. The Delivery Manager assists in the sourcing of the right technical resources for customer projects, oversees and assists in the professional development of staff, tracks skills and competencies, manages performance evaluations, assists with the management of performance metrics, assists with estimation of resource availability and costs, and builds new processes and tools to drive best practices across all customer engagements. This position also manages team member skill building across Opus One’s product lines, technical solutioning proficiency and consultative skills. The Delivery Manager drives achievement of Professional Services and company key results to defined goals and objectives.

This position works closely with the head of the Project Management Office to drive successful customer engagements, and reports directly to the VP, Professional Services.

You have a strong attention to detail and an eye for quality customer deliverables, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into differentiated customer outcomes and benefits. You leverage data and insights to achieve optimal business outcomes, and continuously seek opportunities to build and improve delivery tools, best practices and frameworks.

What will our new Delivery Manager work on?

  • Play a key role in contributing to the Professional Services strategy helping to shape the direction, goals and best practices of the Delivery team
  • Deliver the revenue, margin, customer satisfaction and employee engagement objectives for the Professional Services Team
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly forecasts and reporting on KPIs and baseline to actuals (e.g. project quality, margin, utilization rates, customer satisfaction, etc.)
  • Build cross-functional relationships with various internal teams to successfully deliver customer projects while managing project controls related to solution delivery and resource management
  • Drive employee engagement and culture, motivate team members through strong leadership and coaching, tracking skills and competencies, developing growth plans and helping them reach their personal and professional goals
  • Supervision and management of all levels of technical talent including solution architects, solution specialists, and implementation/deployment engineers
  • Management of the staffing processes (interviewing, onboarding, review/evaluation, development, staff movement)
  • Estimation of resource availability and costs, capacity forecasting and time tracking
  • Sourcing of delivery staff for won engagements
  • Sourcing and management of external delivery partners
  • Assist in the execution of strategic projects
  • Act as an escalation point to support customer engagements, problem solving and risk mitigation
  • Work with Sales Leads and PMO to develop quality proposals and/or SOW, by ensuring appropriate requirements and expectations are met and sourcing of technical expertise as required
  • Represent Professional Services in customer meetings and showcasing value proposition as required
  • Analyze current delivery processes, implement or enhance solutions to improve end user experiences, reduce costs, and accelerate organizational performance
  • Improve team efficiency, collaboration and knowledge sharing through process improvement, governance, compliance and tools
  • Management of customer feedback received directly or indirectly against defined goals and criteria for cost-effective process improvement and customer experience and product enhancement

Requirements

Here’s what you bring:

  • Education. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Communications. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Self-starter. Proactive in seizing opportunities and eager to act upon them immediately. Seeks opportunities to improve existing practices, and build new tools and processes as required.
  • Growth Mindset. Curious and loves to ask questions. A life-long learner who is constantly seeking opportunities to master skills and gain new experiences.
  • Team Player. Enjoys collaborating with and supporting fellow team members, and displays a “we before me” attitude on a daily basis.
  • Experience. 8+ years of professional experience. Proven track record of management and leadership skills required to drive profitable delivery of service engagements. Prior experience delivering projects with values ranging from $50,000 to $10,000,000. Previous experience managing virtual teams preferred
  • Leadership. Prior experience managing budgets, staff, and external partners. Track record of driving highly motivated teams with great culture and engagement.
  • Customer Orientation. Adept at understanding how to deliver successful customer engagements, with an eye for excellent quality deliverables.
