About the Role:Imperfect Foods is seeking an adaptable copywriter with experience in brand marketing communications and growth marketing in an e-commerce or subscription model environment. This individual will be tasked with making our unique brand voice and charm come to life across a variety of different mediums. We’re looking for someone with exceptional writing and communication skills and experience working cross-functionally with other teams to meet their creative needs effectively and deliver results for larger business objectives. If you like the sound of working with a quirky team of pun and food enthusiasts to inspire people to prevent food waste, we want to meet you!

Responsibilities:

  • Create compelling, effective, and on-brand copy for our digital experience, website, emails, social media, blog, paid ads, packaging, and other mediums as needed
  • Work collaboratively across teams to tell stories that matter to our customers and deliver key business results 
  • Use data and testing to craft messaging that hits key metrics
  • Edit copy from other departments to ensure it is on brand 
  • Assist with creative campaigns, content, and UX copy as needed to help our ideas come to life

  • Your writing delivers a sense of humor, expresses personality, and consistently delights people
  • You value clarity and consistency and take the small details of punctuation, spelling, and grammar seriously
  • You’re an excellent communicator and collaborator who can seamlessly work across a variety of departments
  • You have a strong understanding of the importance of brand development and consistency across the customer journey
  • You’re able to adapt stories to fit a variety of platforms and audiences
  • You’re passionate about our mission to eliminate food waste and create a better food system for everyone

Details of Position:

  • Full-time exempt position reporting to the Director of Brand Marketing
  • Position is remote, preference to be based in the San Francisco Bay Area
  • Salary and employee stock options commensurate with experience

  • (Colorado only*) Salary range 75-80k
  • *Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation for this role

Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary work; involves sitting most of the time
  • Occasional movement around the office may be necessary
  • Regular work with computers, including keyboards, mouses, and screens
  • Standing desks and / or other ergonomic accommodation is available upon request
  • Regular use of mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets
