We’re looking for top talent that shares our passion and wants to be part of a fast-moving and highly execution-oriented team.</span></div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-size:16px;">As a homologation engineer, you will gain exposure to every part of the vehicle and how it works.  You will have the opportunity to be part of a team that is homologating ground-up autonomous vehicles.  Achieving this goal requires continuous problem-solving and creativity to navigate the regulations at both a federal and state level.  This role will be on-site in Foster City, California and you will be joining a high-performing, lean team.</span></div><br><br><h3>In this role, you will:</h3><ul><li>Lead the delivery of State vehicle code compliance and State autonomous vehicle permit requirements</li><li>Collaborate with the hardware, feature, policy, and legal teams to deliver solutions to support State AV permit requirements</li><li>Identify State vehicle codes that may conflict with the robotaxi design and work with the Policy team to drive updates to the vehicle code</li><li>Lead the assessment of homologation requirements for non-robotaxi Zoox-owned vehicles.  Support the teams with developing solutions, as needed.</li><li>Support the other homologation team members on FMVSS, EPA, CARB, and FCC delivery.  </li><li>Track homologation testing and progress toward milestones</li><li>Analyze homologation documentation for sufficiency, accuracy, and completeness</li><li>Review and identify engineering changes with potential homologation impact.  Approve change requests for HW and SW on behalf of homologation</li><li>Support issue resolution during vehicle launch</li><li>Review Quality Audits for FMVSS compliance concerns</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or a related field of study</li><li>At minimum 10  years of experience in vehicle homologation, testing or design and release</li><li>Understanding of automotive regulations, especially State Vehicle Code, FMVSS and EPA/CARB</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle system components and functions</li><li>Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop effective solutions efficiently</li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills</li><li>Ability to work independently</li><div><br></div></ul><br>
