Where in the world of OVO will I be working? 

You will be working in the Growth Team, reporting into the Head of Performance Marketing. This is a commercial role, primarily focused on achieving ambitious acquisition targets across a range of energy, smart tech and home services products. 

As an experienced paid media manager, you will be managing a roster of specialist agencies responsible for the strategy and delivery of multi-million pound performance marketing campaigns across digital, offline and above-the-line channels.

What will I be doing?

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivery against sales targets, while finding opportunities for continuous improvement within cost per sale and CLV guidelines
  • Strategy, planning and evaluation of digital advertising channels including paid search, paid social, affiliates, display and video
  • Direction and oversight of digital media agencies, ensuring that all campaigns deliver against growth and brand objectives
  • Collaborate with brand and creative teams and agencies to plan above-the-line acquisition campaigns on channels including DRTV
  • Lead quarterly forecasting, budgeting and scenario planning for your channels, ensuring optimal investment across the most effective areas
  • Develop marketing plans that deliver across multiple business objectives, while prioritising effectively to maximise return on ad spend
  • Proactive analysis and reporting on campaign performance, sharing insights and opportunities with agencies and internal teams
  • Drive performance improvements using data from multiple sources e.g. Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Business Manager, TV Squared
  • Manage multi-million pound budgets and work closely with colleagues in finance and procurement to ensure appropriate controls are followed
  • Work with propositions, brand, creative studio and agencies to ensure consistently high standards of creative and copy across all campaigns
  • Collaborate with product and tech teams to ensure appropriate tracking is in place and landing pages and purchase journeys are optimised
  • Build relationships with senior partners across teams including Growth, Propositions, Pricing, Brand, Finance, Product and Data
  • Work closely with colleagues across Performance Marketing, Growth and the wider Commercial team to ensure a successful integrated approach

Is this the job for me? 

Ideally you will have:

  • A proven track record in performance marketing, ideally with hands-on campaign delivery skills alongside strategic commercial experience
  • Demonstrable experience managing digital channels including paid search, paid social, affiliates, display and video advertising
  • Experience in managing above the line campaigns, offline media campaigns and integrated media campaigns would be a bonus
  • Experience of managing media agencies, with a focus on building strong relationships, optimising performance and delivering against targets
  • Knowledge of marketing principles, with an ability to articulate how brand and performance marketing should work together over the long term
  • Solid grasp of the creative process and the importance of creative in delivering effective performance marketing outcomes
  • Analytical problem solver, with a talent for interpreting data, discovering useful insights using these to improve campaign performance
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with an ability to turn data and insights into engaging presentations
