About the Role:  

Planet Labs is looking for a full-time QA Engineer to join the Software Engineering team in Berlin.

Impact You’ll Own:

• Develop and integrate test suites for websites, services and API's together with the engineering team.
• Work with stakeholders to identify, prioritize and document new areas for automation.
• Work with the engineering team to set up and maintain server-side infrastructure and CI configuration.
• Report and track issues found.
• Explorative testing on customer and admin-facing web interfaces.

What You Bring:

• Good skills in one modern programming language of your choice for creating and maintaining the automated test suites (preferably Python but Ruby, JavaScript, Java, Clojure, Scala and such would work as well).
• Excellent knowledge of tools for automated testing of web interfaces (e.g. Selenium / Page Object design pattern).
• Solid understanding of web technologies like HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Experience in Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment and Jenkins.
• Demonstrated understanding of UI / UX scenarios and applications.
• Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to dig deep and find the root cause of reported problems.
• Proactivity is a must.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

What Makes You Stand Out:

• Experience in effectively collaborating with globally dispersed engineering and product teams.
• Track record of working in an agile software development environment.
• Background dealing with cloud-compute, remote data processing and big data desired.
• Familiarity with geo-spatial data, satellite imagery and remote sensing a plus.
