The Senior Logistics Associate is responsible for investigating freight shipments and its invoice payment information against our customers contracts and applicable rates. The goal is to identify billing discrepancies. They will work with cross functional teams and have direct communication with service providers to discuss various issues concerning billing accuracy, timely payment and aging reports. They are also responsible to communicate withT Bird accounting team to facilitate payments on time and within budget. This role will report to the Global Logistics Analytics Manager at Bird Rides, Inc.

As a member of the Global Logistics Team, the Sr. Logistics Associate responsible for the area of freight audit will perform thorough examinations of the freight charges billed to Bird, reconcile any billing disputes with service providers, manage freight processing to Bird Accounting Team, and answer questions about freight payment with service providers and internal Bird Team.

Day-to-day duties include: managing invoice variance reconciliation, tracking and reporting accruals and total amount of freight invoices in dispute, supporting monthly reporting needs for month financial close, utilizing Bird ERP systems to process freight successfully processing for AP reconciliation.

Responsibilities

  • Audit invoice payment information and process any overcharge claims
  • Communicate with service providers to address issues related to our audits
  • Process invoices with proper GL and cost center and route through to accounting for payment processing approval (Netsuite)
  • Backup to shipment tracking function as necessary
  • Participate in the month end accrual process with Finance Team

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of freight bill analysis, validation and freight classifications
  • Understanding of freight terminology (BOL, POD, accessorial charges)
  • Understanding of the different shipping modes and applicable rates/pricing
  • At least 2-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiar with Netsuite ERP or understanding of accounting fundamentals
  • Intermediate with MS Excel
  • Knowledge of port operation and logistics tracking
