Who we are<br>                                Beyond Fossil Fuels (BFF) is an alliance of civil society groups committed to transforming the European energy sector. We strive for a just transition to a fossil-free, fully renewables-based power system that protects our climate and people. This campaign is supported by a BFF secretariat, registered as a non-profit organisation in Berlin, with staff spread across Europe.<br><br>We are recruiting for a key position within our secretariat's communications team: Senior Media Manager. In this role, you will oversee the development and execution of our media strategy across digital, print and broadcast platforms. You will work closely with the Communications Director, co-managing a team of communications and digital professionals. Your responsibilities<br>                                <ul><li>Develop the Beyond Fossil Fuels’ secretariat media strategy, aligned with the campaign goals</li><li>Contribute to the overarching BFF coalition communication strategy</li><li>Ensure that the media strategy is integrated with our brand identity, social media and digital communications activities</li><li>Oversee all media relations work: media lists, outreach, monitoring and coverage analysis</li><li>Manage and nurture relationships with journalists, media outlets, influencers, and content partners</li><li>Act as a spokesperson and media representative for the organisation </li><li>Write press releases, media briefings, advisories, op-eds, comms kits for our coalition members, and edit reports</li><li>Oversee daily media screening and monitor relevant energy, climate and political trends in the media</li><li>Conduct a thorough audit of our current media outreach</li><li>Monitor and evaluate BFF’s media outreach, including press release distribution, engagement with journalists, analysis and follow-up protocols, to identify and implement improvements</li><li>Lead communications on BFF campaign wins, losses and other developments</li><li>Manage media crisis communications and reputation management issues proactively and reactively</li><li>Be the main communications team contact point and lead for the BFF work areas on PMR (Plants, mines and regions) and EMG (Electricity markets and grids)</li><li>Maintain the BFF secretariat’s and coalition’s comms calendar </li><li>Line manage three members of our communications team, including task and performance management.
