<p>Founded in 2020, NEU Battery Materials is a Singapore-based climatetech company that developed the world’s first patented electrochemical redox recycling method to recycle used lithium batteries. The company focuses on extracting critical lithium from lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries which are found in electric cars and energy storage systems, which will be key in developing a circular supply chain. <br></p><p style="text-align: justify">NEU aims to be the largest, cleanest, and most neutral source of recycled lithium globally. The company’s novel approach to consume only electricity and water paves the way for more sustainable, cost-effective, and greener LFP battery recycling. <br></p><p style="text-align: justify">NEU Battery Materials is a finalist in the <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://about.bnef.com/blog/2025-bnef-pioneers-finalists-tackle-light-industry-decarbonization-the-future-of-energy-storage-and-climate-change-adaptation/"><u>BloombergNEF Pioneers Competition 2025</u></a> under the “Innovations in Energy Storage” category. The company is also listed in the <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/forbesasiateam/2024/08/26/forbes-asia-100-to-watch-2024/"><u>Forbes Asia 100 To Watch 2024</u></a> list that featured Asia-Pacific’s small companies and startups on the rise. Investors in NEU Battery Materials include SGInnovate, ComfortDelGro Ventures, Shift4Good, amongst others. The company has also been supported by the Temasek Foundation, which provided grant funding. </p>
