We’re seeking an individual motivated by our mission with a deep understanding of the energy space to join our Product Partnerships team to define our go-to-market strategy, and support the development of strategic partnerships with distributed energy resources (DERs) of all types, including electric vehicles, energy storage, and controllable loads. By partnering with industry leaders and the distributed energy resource (DER) ecosystem, we want to build the decarbonized, distributed, decentralized, and digitized energy system of the future. The Voltus DER Platform connects any distributed energy resource to any energy market across the US and Canada, providing flexibility, reliability, and resilience to the grid while generating revenue for our partners. Voltus is a remote and virtual company, distributed across US, Canada, and abroad with many team members in New York, San Francisco, Boston, Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, DC and other cities. This role can be based anywhere in the US/Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute directly towards monetizing new DER asset types.  Collaborate with our Energy Markets and Product teams to research and define the technical and financial grid service participation potential for each DER asset class in each of the 9 wholesale electricity markets we currently serve, so we can prioritize our Product and Regulatory priorities.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of product partner needs and product partner technical capabilities. 
  • Improve our product offerings for our partners. Define the business value and market potential of any new product development request that serves product partners. 
  • Develop an understanding of our competitors’ capabilities so we can differentiate our offering.  
  • Collaborate with our Marketing team to develop pitch materials that succinctly communicate Voltus’s value proposition to prospective product partners in different DER asset classes.

About You:

  • Demonstrated history of working across internal teams to qualify, quantify, and prioritize strategic initiatives. 
  • Experience working with external partners to develop integrated product offerings 
  • Self-initiated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment
  • Experience with business model development
  • Excellent project management and cross-functional leadership skills
  • Knowledge of the electric grid systems, markets, and distributed energy resource technologies
  • Bonus: Experience in EVs and EV charging infrastructure, energy storage, demand response and energy efficiency
