Senior Business Development Manager

We are now looking for a&nbsp;Senior Business Development Manager – Energy Storage Business&nbsp;to join our team working for a better future.&nbsp;The position is permanent and remote and will be based in Italy.&nbsp;What you will be doing &nbsp;We are looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to work within Italy and our European growth markets. You will be accountable for leading energy storage sales for cross-functional teams. You will have a leading role to ensure we have predictable profitable sales, and project execution.&nbsp;You will be reporting to the Area Sales Director. &nbsp;As the Senior Business Development Manager, your work will focus on these responsibilities: &nbsp;<ul><li>Lead energy storage sales opportunities from the initial bid to award and contract execution</li><li>Vet customers and opportunities to ensure efficient resource use</li><li>Manage and maintain key account relationships</li><li>Ensure correct pricing strategies and accurate cost estimations</li><li>Lead stakeholders and project sales team to achieve business unit goals</li><li>Utilise S&amp;OP data as a basis when assessing the correct cost estimations and schedules</li><li>Ensure tenders and requirements are understood in detail within the project sales team and high-quality offers are prepared</li><li>Ensure risks are evaluated and mitigated properly</li><li>Ensure necessary internal reviews are conducted and approvals received</li><li>Ensure Wärtsilä contracting policies are followed and proper contract terms are achieved</li><li>Lead contract negotiations and prepare winning sales negotiation strategies</li><li>Manage and report the progress of project sales in CRM (Salesforce) accurately</li><li>Ensure proper sales documentation in closing deals</li><li>Ensure sales are properly transferred to the project execution team</li><li>Drive Wärtsilä purpose and demonstrate Wärtsilä values of customer success, passion, and performance</li></ul>&nbsp;&nbsp;To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: &nbsp;<ul><li>5 years experience in the utility-scale renewable energy industry, with a strong preference toward candidates with prior battery energy storage experience</li><li>Promote and never sacrifice safety</li><li>Is a senior sales leader with a strong track record of leading high-performing cross-functional teams</li><li>Solution orientated</li><li>Has a strong track record of negotiating complex sales projects</li><li>Contractual and risk management experience</li><li>Influencing and communication skills especially when working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders</li><li>Lead by example and facilitate collaboration across organisations</li><li>Broad understanding of energy storage business, solutions, and market outlook</li><li>Has commercial and customer mindset combined with a structural approach</li><li>Outstanding team player and excellent coaching skills</li><li>Drive results with planning, change management, and execution skills </li><li>Inspire people to take actions towards goals</li><li>Appreciate diversity and ability to build psychological safety and inclusion within the organisation</li><li>Readiness to travel</li></ul>&nbsp;Your success will be measured by<ul><li>Successful project sales with end-to-end profitability</li><li>Sales team engagement, stakeholder collaboration, and customer satisfaction </li></ul>&nbsp;&nbsp;(In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world.
