Job Description

Who we are
Our mission is to accelerate the world’s transition to net zero carbon. But we need to move quickly. Emitwise wants to ensure that every organisation across the world, big or small, is able to embark on a sustainability journey that culminates in net zero. The planet deserves more than just another tech company, and if you do too, then keep reading.
At Emitwise, we've built a team that has the skillset and desire to bring automated carbon accounting to life — saving businesses time, money, and emissions. We have built a platform which makes it significantly easier and faster for companies to calculate, track, and reduce their carbon emissions. This allows them to reduce costs, future-proof their business, and become sustainability leaders. Ultimately, we're a group of people disenchanted with business as usual and looking to make a real impact through creative innovation.
Backed by top-tier Silicon Valley investors who share our mission, including True Ventures, and Ex Uber CEO Ryan Graves, we are a well-funded seed-stage start-up. Read more about us in publications like ForbesBusiness Insider, and Fast Company
About the job
Our core cloud (SaaS) product shows our customers their carbon emissions inventory. The UX needs to permit users to understand, drill into and compare large amounts of complex data. It needs to permit users to explore options for changes to their business activities and to recommend changes.
We have a classification pipeline where Emitwise experts process customer activity data. As we introduce machine learning into that pipeline we need to develop the UX that meshes human and automated expertise.
We need talented front end engineers who are passionate about creating clean, fast, frictionless user experiences. You will work closely with our product design team to create UI that users love. You care about code quality, test coverage and contributing to a code base that we can build upon and extend.
Our current front end stack is Angular and Typescript but we will happily consider Engineers with experience in other front end stacks who are enthusiastic to skill up.
If you want to extend your role to full-stack we can support that. Our backends are in Python and Go.
We are at the beginning of the Emitwise journey. This is a brilliant time to join us in helping the world to reduce carbon, and to help shape a small but fast growing engineering team.
