We seek to transform the energy landscape and do our part in making the world better for all. We are supported by leading investors who share a common belief that low-cost, multi-day energy storage will be a key enabler of tomorrow’s zero carbon electric system.
Role Description
We’re looking for a Battery Management System (BMS) Controls Engineer who will be responsible for developing algorithms and control strategies for large scale batteries. This engineer will work closely with the System Engineering and Validation team to create control models and algorithms for a BMS.

What you'll do:

  • Develop BMS software control modules behavior and interfaces.
  • Drive modular software architecture design that encompasses security, functional safety, memory protection, and performance.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to define the BMS architecture, the control topology, peripheral section, sensor properties, and algorithms.
  • Create and model BMS algorithms and controls in Python and/or SimuLink.
  • Develop controls for contactor closing, SOC, SOH, balancing, fault management, and current regulation.
  • Work closely with System and Battery engineers to define safety and protection strategy based on given FTTI.
  • Work with the System team to define validation and integration plans of BMS software controls.
