Role DescriptionWe are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the R&D Engineering team, a group responsible for meeting the design and development needs of the entire R&D organization. Members of the R&D Engineering team scope, design, fabricate, prototype, instrument, and analyze hardware with teams developing Form’s fundamental technology. If you enjoy working with others to design and build creative solutions to a variety of challenging problems, this role is for you! This is a great opportunity to solve a wide array of technical challenges with a large cross section of the Form Energy team. 

What You'll Do:

  • Design, build, and qualify new electrical components, automation systems, and test platforms across technical teams
  • Develop functional requirements in close collaboration with members of Form’s other technology development teams 
  • Own an iterative design process, confirming that electrical requirements are met
  • Perform hands-on prototyping of your designs
  • Collaborate with testing teams to define and execute validation plans
  • Support the analysis of test data to enable data-based decision making
  • Produce engineering documents such as SOPs, schematics, and supporting design justification
  • Fortify and expand Form’s documentation best practices in our PLM software
  • Work closely with technology development team members and R&D Engineering team colleagues on varying projects based on your skills/interests and Form’s top priorities
  • Champion for safety, especially in the development of new laboratory processes or experiments

What You'll Bring:

  • BS required in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 0-1 years of electrical design experience (through industrial, internship, or academic positions)
  • Experience in schematic capture and PCB design (Altium preferred)
  • Prototyping, soldering, and other relevant hands-on experience
  • Battery experience not required
