Role DescriptionWe are looking for an individual with previous experience managing or working in a chemistry laboratory who can clearly communicate and enforce EHS requirements, flexibly support technical teams, and be responsible for the safety and organization of our lab. An ideal candidate would be able to cultivate relationships with lab users to foster a culture of safety and organization and support the daily operation of the lab spaces.

  • Manage space allocation, equipment, lab supplies and general organization of the lab spaces and regularly audit various labs for safety, cleanliness, and organization
  • Help establish and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, housekeeping practices, and material needs in the lab spaces
  • Coordinate support with EHS, Facilities and other parties for new and existing projects
  • Ensure safety of lab including spacing and management of hazards and safety equipment (showers, eyewash stations, fume hoods)
  • Manage service contracts and preventive maintenance of shared lab equipment, coordinating with
  • Coordinate third party contractors, vendors to perform various calibration activities
  • Member of the Safety Committee and emergency response contact, alongside EHS
  • Provide general lab safety and operations training to new hires and engineers on site
  • Monitor satellite waste sites and work with Form West EHS Team to ensure proper chemical disposal
  • Actively manage Form Energy’s chemical inventory with regard to proper storage, use and tracking
  • Manage the physical or electronic SDS binder for the site

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience managing or working in a chemistry laboratory
  • Familiarity with chemical hygiene and safety best practices 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously 
  • Holds themselves accountable for results
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to learn cloud based organizational tools
