Role DescriptionThe Manager, Supplier Quality Engineering and Industrialization will be responsible for establishing and managing the quality and reliability standards of Form products. This person will establish the metrics to be used to measure the quality of Form’s products and be the primary point of contact for resolving quality issues from the field and from manufacturing partners. The role will report to the Director, Supply Chain and be highly cross-functional with direct engagement with Systems Engineering, Battery Products, and other development teams, while maintaining direct relationships with external suppliers and other partners.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage, grow and develop the team of NPI and Supplier Quality Engineers who are responsible for supplier development, part quality, process optimization and supplier industrialization, at all points in the product life.
  • Involved in technical design reviews to ensure manufacturability, responsible for developing quality technical requirements and drive those requirements through an effective
  • Design for Manufacturability plan with suppliers to ensure a robust process
  • Drive automation within the supplier manufacturing plan to ensure effective error-proofing is built into the process
  • Oversee rapid and effective SCAR closures to ensure issues are addressed quickly correctly and do not reoccur
  • Develop strong relationships and communication with stakeholders, including Battery Products, Systems Engineering, TechOps, Battery R&D, Engineering Finance, and Advanced Manufacturing
  • Interact with suppliers’ working level team and executives to ensure Form Energy quality directives are understood and executed
  • Bring up new capacity at suppliers and achieve ramp goals aligned with supplier based on detailed analysis of Overall Equipment Effectiveness and equipment capability
  • Ensure supplier process control and quality methods can meet both IQC and in-process requirements downstream, ability to understand the process flow and quickly assess risks

What You'll Bring:

  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or related degree
  • Engineering related MS preferred
  • Background in manufacturing or design environment
  • Overall 7+ years of experience and at least 5+ years of experience in manager position in an industrial environment, with strong preference for a Technology/Battery related role
  • A deep knowledge of Quality Systems processes and methodologies is a must have
  • Strong knowledge base of statistical methods
  • The candidate should show a structured, data driven mindset and problem-solving attitude
  • Organized, with a good balance between delegation and capacity to deep dive into tactical issues when required
  • Uses the escalation path appropriately to raise awareness on critical problems to the upper management
  • Ability to communicate issues clearly, loudly and fearlessly to executive team to ensure proper traction
  • Has a deep understanding of product technologies and manufacturing processes for mechanical commodities including battery manufacturing process, equipment capability, quality control and testing methods for mechanical & electrochemical properties of battery cells
