We seek to transform the energy landscape and do our part in making the world better for all. We are supported by leading investors who share a common belief that low-cost, multi-day energy storage will be a key enabler of tomorrow’s zero carbon electric system.
Role DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced professional to lead the development and execution of Form’s global supply chain strategy for critical iron materials and components used in Form’s pioneering iron-air battery systems. This leader will establish and own the development and scale-up of Form’s commercial scale iron sourcing strategy, while serving as a subject matter expert on the iron and steel industry, delivering shrewd insights based on a deep understanding of production processes, market trends and Form’s technical and commercial needs. They will also guide thoughtful decision making to ensure delivery of quality materials and components that meet aggressive performance, cost, and timeline requirements.
The successful candidate will rely on their combination of business acumen, technical depth and experience in the iron and steel industry to bring strategic approaches and oversight to the sourcing of these raw material components, while developing and maintaining positive, productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners alike.

  • Lead the structuring, executing and overseeing of commercial supply agreements and large scale production campaigns with key suppliers
  • Identify, evaluate and advance various iron procurement and processing paths to support both near term development demands and the rapid scale up of manufacturing
  • Interface directly with steel industry partners within the iron and steel industry
  • Oversee the commercialization of key development efforts involving new or modified iron processing
  • Be the internal commercial expert by developing clear strategies and roadmaps for supply and scale up of iron anode materials, components, and manufacturing processes, as well as tracking market developments and pricing trends
  • Deliver favorable supply terms for iron components that optimize costs, lead times, and risk to Form, by managing the end-to-end process from supplier development through qualification, negotiation, and contracting
  • Ensure Form is working with best-in-class suppliers by rigorously analyzing component and manufacturing costs, developing should-cost models, performing risk analyses, forecasting industry trends, and leveraging your own expertise in metals markets and production processes

What You'll Bring

  • Senior leadership experience (10+ years) within the steel industry strategic sourcing, procurement, business development, or engineering in the mining and steel industries (sales, production, or process engineering)
