Role Description The Cell Development team is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to take a leadership role in envisioning and actioning how the team analyzes battery data. This member of the team will work closely with experienced electrochemists, data engineers, test engineers, and battery engineers to improve the quality and quantity of information gathered from Form’s next generation battery data. This is a unique opportunity to combine skillsets in physical modeling, statistical modeling, and scientific programming to accelerate Form’s technology development.  This role requires excellent communication skills, with attention to detail and documentation. 

What You'll Do:

  • Identify and apply appropriate statistical techniques for model selection, parameter estimation, and prediction using electrochemical datasets. 
  • Bring physical and mathematical intuition to develop and use empirical and semi-empirical models of battery performance.
  • Work with a cross-functional team to architect, implement, and directly use efficient and user-friendly data analysis workflows for scientists and engineers 

What You'll Bring:

  • A background in the physical sciences and experience working with experimental data
  • Experience analyzing time-series and other data from scientific experiments 
  • Broad toolkit of statistical data analysis techniques (e.g. hierarchical linear regression, correction for multiple comparisons, frequentist and/or Bayesian hypothesis testing, non-parametric approaches, etc.)  
  • Experience with Python, SQL, and spreadsheets
  • Experience writing modular code with version control for scientific or data analysis applications
