Role DescriptionForm Energy is looking for a System Administrator to join its Information Technology department.  The individual will be the first point of contact for our west coast locations for technical support and integrate as part of a larger team to work on projects and support activities across the organization.  Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role.  You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly.  This role will be part of our growing IT team at Form and is a great opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects in a quickly growing company.

What You'll Do:

  • Install and configure software, hardware and networking components
  • Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
  • Strong skills with most operating system commands/utilities (Windows OS, MAC OS, Linux Ubuntu)
  • Google Workspace administration concepts
  • Administer various Azure and AWS Assets
  • Troubleshoot and resolve user issues, connectivity, VPN, Antivirus among others
  • Troubleshoot networks issues, WAPs, firewalls, switches
  • Command line troubleshooting and ability to use tools such as the Windows Event Log to identify issues
  • Troubleshoot / Configure conference room equipment, Google Meet and MS TeamsDocument requests, incidents and change management in JIRA ITSM

What You'll Bring:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to train users in applications and operating system fundamentals and to write basic documentation
  • Flexible person with the ability to shift gears quickly and come back to original task as needed
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with most basic system administration tools and processes; for example, ability  add and remove user accounts, use backup programs and fsck or chkdsk, manage shared resources (e.g., file systems, printers), add a workstation to a network, mount remote file systems, and proper installation of infrastructure tools such as anti-virus and various local agents
  • Understand the basics of networking and security forensics
  • DNS, DHCP, WAPs, firewalls, switches and general networking methodologies
  • Understand the basics of scripting, virtualization, desktop imaging, and deployment
  • Experience with cloud hosting solutions - AWS & Azure preferred
  • Hands on experience with patching and operating system upgrades
  • Two to four years of experience as a Senior or Lead support Technician or as a System Administrator I
  • Relevant IT certifications : COMP TIA, A+ and COMP TIA Security+ desirable
