Role DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced technical writer with hardware and software experience to own external-facing product specification and operation manuals for our product suite. You will work with our project engineering, product management, software, and systems engineering teams to deliver clear and accurate product documentation that targets a range of audience, including project owners, installers, and technical users. The ideal candidate brings experience in managing complex technical documentation of high-tech energy products, and is an outstanding collaborator who can work across teams. In this role, you will facilitate market adoption of our storage projects.

What You'll Do:

  • Own and manage customer-facing storage hardware and firmware specification and commercial project proposal documentation
  • Own and manage product installation, operation, and maintenance manuals
  • Work with project engineering, customers, and systems, and software engineering teams to validate all information for accuracy and use a routing and review process for document update and approval
  • Track ongoing product enhancements to ensure all required information is being documented, updated, reviewed, approved, and communicated to customer-facing stakeholders
  • Build strong working relationships with subject matter experts ranging from technicians, project engineering leads, systems engineers, and product managers to ensure that information is documented and distributed properly

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, English, technical writing, or a related degree
  • At least three years experience with preparing high quality written documentation for external audiences
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills; able to absorb complex engineering specifications and translate into clear technical documentation in line with Form’s brand standards
  • Experience with DITA or DITA-based CCMS systems or alternatives
  • Superior team collaborator; thrives in engaging with multiple teams (project engineering, systems engineering, testing, marketing, legal, compliance) to ensure content accuracy and specificity
