Vice President, Public Policy

As the VP of Public Policy you will lead Form Energy’s global policy strategy and be responsible for building and managing a team to develop markets for multi-day energy storage. The VP of Public Policy will be an integral part of Form Energy’s executive leadership team that defines and executes on the company’s overall vision and shapes the company’s culture. We are seeking an established leader with deep knowledge of industry business models and markets, strong personal relationships with executives in government, industry and nongovernmental organizations, and sound policy and communications judgment. This role will report directly to Form Energy’s Chief Operating Officer and will manage our existing policy team to accelerate and expand its global impact.

What you'll do:

• Collaborate with the leadership team in defining and executing Form’s policy, market development, and communications objectives. 
• Lead global public policy strategy to develop markets for multi-day energy storage and ensure the long term global commercial success of the company.
• Shape and secure non-dilutive funding opportunities and other incentives at the federal and regional level.
• Grow, lead and manage the policy team and oversee its resourcing plans.
• Define goals and success metrics for the policy teamDirect global and national policy advocacy efforts, including with strategic partners.
• Manage global policy analysis to enable market development prioritization in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate with the business development team to pursue new and emerging market opportunities.
• Represent Form Energy in public and private policy forums with high-level government officials.

What you'll need:

• 15+ years of experience in electric and/or energy sector policy development or advocacy with significant focus on renewable energy, decarbonization, and energy technology commercialization.
• Successful executive experience in a relevant energy company, non-governmental organization, or technology company. 
• Strong energy sector relationships, and a deep network of utility, regulatory, and NGO contacts. 
• Established reputation as a constructive and trusted partner with environmental NGOs, utilities, regulators and government officials.
• Demonstrated success in developing new markets for emerging technologies.
• Demonstrated experience building and leading effective and energizing policy teams. 
• Proven experience in navigating ambiguity and thriving in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional writing and communication skills, as well as judgment communicating sensitively in highly political contexts.
• Advanced degree in law, business, policy or public administration.
