Job Description

Running Tide is an ocean technology company built to tackle humanity's most urgent challenge: climate change. We build cutting-edge solutions that integrate engineered and biological systems to remove CO2 from the atmosphere, restore ecosystems, and secure food systems. Our multidisciplinary team of world-class scientists, engineers, and maritime operators is working as fast as possible while the world is burning.
Our Coastal team designs, builds and operates highly optimized shellfish and kelp farms that decarbonize protein production and restore coastal ecosystems at large scales. We are looking for an ambitious individual to chase down new opportunities that expand our efforts in coastal environments, from water quality remediation to coastal rehabilitation. Responsibilities will range from developing strategic partnerships to formulating and executing funding strategies. This person will also liaise with our communications team to craft communications that support our coastal work.

You Will

  • Build relationships with key local, state and federal entities, NGOs and others involved in the coastal remediation, ecosystem restoration, and ocean climate spaces 
  • Define and own the overall funding strategy for coastal restoration and remediationIdentify, shape and foster funding opportunities for today and tomorrow
  • Manage and contribute to the execution of RFPs and grant submissions
  • Work closely with our Coastal Program Lead to identify growth opportunities based on market factors
  • Develop communications related to coastal restoration and protein production, and partner with our broader communications team to ensure communications are aligned across our business

You Have (or You Are)

  • 5+ years of experience in Business Development or similar field
  • Proven track record of creating new business opportunities
  • Experiencing partnering with government (Federal and State levels) and/or the nonprofit sector
  • Versatile in your thinking, having an eye for the finer details whilst also constantly reviewing the strategic process.
  • Hands-on, results-oriented go-getter with a proven track record of successExcited by complexity and focused on creating value
  • Strategic, but oriented towards action
  • High sense of urgency and a positive outlook
  • A passion for learning new things and jumping into the unknown.
  • Able to work with a high level of autonomy but are collaborative by nature
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; experience writing proposals and making presentations
  • Are an excellent educator, communicator, and listenerWillingness to travel, as required
