Job Description

Running Tide is an ocean technology company built to tackle humanity's most urgent challenge: climate change. We build cutting-edge solutions that integrate engineered and biological systems to remove CO2 from the atmosphere, restore ecosystems, and secure food systems. Our multidisciplinary team of world-class scientists, engineers, and maritime operators is working as fast as possible while the world is burning.
We are adding a dedicated logistics capability and are looking for a world class leader who can help plan, coordinate, and support operational and engineering efforts in a dynamic work environment with unique challenges. This person has extensive experience with sourcing, shipping, and detailed planning. This person also excels at working cross functionally and is a persistent problem solver.

You Will

  • Build a dedicated logistics capability from the ground up, tailoring the output capability and size of the team to the needs of the company.
  • Handle and supervise sourcing efforts, ensuring adequate supply without waste, as well as cost competitive options at scale. This will include raw bulk material, fabrication materials, and specialized items for system development, all at scales ranging from R&D to full production level.
  • Coordinate shipping needs, from local to international and sporadic to steady-state. This will include movement by truck, rail, sea, and air.
  • Assist in all engineering and operational planning to constantly increase the efficiency of the team’s effort.
  • Track all purchases, movements, shipments, and changes, ensuring the rest of the team is always adjusting to most current information.
  • Translate working prototype solutions to scalable systems.
  • Iterate, almost infinitely, on new solutions to the same problem.
  • Work with vendors, advisors and other third parties.

You Are (or You Have)

  • 5+ years experience in logistics
  • 2+ years leadership experience
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively
  • Team player with a high degree of ownership and drive
  • Persistent and precise
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
