We are looking for a Strategic FInance & Operations Associate to wear many hats within the organization. You will be part of the Business Operations team and work across a wide range of functions, including: finance, strategic planning, corporate development, investor relations, fundraising and general corporate support. This role will work closely with our Head of Strategy and be a key part of a growing team. It will be highly visible in the organization.
The ideal candidate will have good foundational skills in investment banking, private equity or corporate development, and is looking to work at a fast-paced, category-defining startup. This role will be instrumental in leading strategic projects for senior management and defining new processes and benchmarks.

You Will

  • Own the company’s financial model and associated processes to support the budget process, strategic planning and other initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform budgetary decision-making (e.g., operations, research, manufacturing, strategy, etc.).Work closely with accounting team to lead quarterly budgeting process.
  • Prepare regular reports and financial analyses for internal and external stakeholders; provide insight and follow-up where needed.
  • Lead project management of special strategic finance projects.
  • Work with Management team to understand business drivers, verify KPIs, and establish a single source of financial information. Develop and maintain a financial dashboard.
  • Build models to evaluate new business lines and/or expansion opportunities. Work closely with relevant teams to evaluate new opportunities.
  • Track industry data and market-based financial trends.
  • Work with Business Operations team on a variety of initiatives to keep the business running smoothly, including: facilitation of contracts, improving processes and documentation, liaising with external parties, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and more.

You Are (or You Have)

  • 2+ years in investment banking, private equity, corporate development or another related field that provided heavy finance training.2+ years of experience in a financial role within a startup or fast-growing company.
  • Strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail and high ownership of work product.
  • Collaborative mentality, with a “no task is too small” attitude.
  • Excitement towards the “unknown” and the ability to build financial best-practices in a developing industry.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to explain processes, logic, and decisions to a variety of key stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Docs/Sheets/Slides, including complex financial modeling.
  • Time and project management skills.
  • Experience with solving complex, unstructured, problems and excellent analytical skills.
