Job Description:<div><div>Job DescriptionWe're seeking a highly experienced, detail-oriented, and results-driven Senior Solar &amp; Power Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team in Fremont, California, US. In this key role, you'll learn, analyze, and lead the optimization of complex energy systems, with a strong focus on renewable and efficient technologies. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of energy principles, a proven track record in project execution, and a passion for advancing sustainable energy initiatives.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>· Lead the design and engineering of advanced energy systems, including power conversion technologies and battery storage for solar power plants.</li><li>· Evaluate new energy technologies and recommend their integration into current and future projects.</li><li>· Perform technical trade studies and cost analysis of different design solutions.</li><li>· Perform system architecture design, including functional block diagrams and interface definitions.</li><li>· Perform system modeling and simulation to optimize performance, efficiency, and reliability.</li><li>· Develop and manage system level requirements and specifications to track product/customer requirements through actual implementation.</li><li>· Be the overall system engineering technical decider and reviewer. Review individual contributors’ work, provide feedback, guidance and manage priorities.</li><li>· Work with other teams to ensure smooth project execution, on-time delivery, and budget control.</li><li>· Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, codes, and environmental regulations.</li><li>· Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and documentation for stakeholders.</li><li>· Support commissioning and troubleshooting of energy systems during installation and operation.</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>· BS/MS/PhD in in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or equivalent.</li><li>· Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in energy systems design, or management.</li><li>· Proven expertise in the following areas: solar PV, battery energy storage systems, smart grids, or energy efficiency.</li><li>· Proficiency with energy modeling software (e.g., PVsyst, HOMER, ETAP, MATLAB/Simulink).</li><li>· Experience with the full product lifecycle, from requirement definition to design, production, and field management.</li><li>· Experience operating in a multi-disciplinary and multi-functional environment Experience performing trade studies and lifecycle cost analysis.</li><li>· Strong understanding of power electronics, grid interconnection requirements, and control systems.</li><li>· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.</li><li>· Ability to lead projects, manage priorities, and work effectively in a team environment.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>· Experience with specific regulatory bodies or grid codes (e.g., CAISO, FERC).</li><li>· Familiarity with financial modeling for energy projects.</li><li>· Experience with SCADA systems and industrial controls.</li><li>· Experience with energy storage integration and control strategies.</li><li>· Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for energy systems</li><li>· FMEA, root cause analysis, investigation of service anomalies.</li></ul></div></div><div><div> Nextracker offers a comprehensive benefits package.
