WHO YOU ARE

Sila Nanotechnologies seeks a senior supply chain specialist with the experience, skills, proficiency and desire to develop a supply network that delivers competitive advantage to Sila. The position is responsible for strategic supplier sourcing and management for scaling our manufacturing operations.  You’ll be working in a dynamic and  fast-paced environment across multiple organizations in the company where technical and business judgement along and collaborative problem-solving abilities are prerequisites for success. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Work with Capital Equipment Sourcing lead to drive sourcing programs that result in smart and capital-efficient scaling of our production.  
  • Develop clear strategic supplier relationship strategies, including (but not limited to) contract/pricing negotiation, new technology development, performance management and governance.
  • Ensure Sila and suppliers are aligned with technical and commercial requirements by working closely with Engineering, Legal, Quality Assurance, Finance, and Manufacturing.
  • Develop and present cost savings opportunities both from supply chain negotiation and engineering design changes.
  • Identify and recommend key new suppliers, perform new suppliers evaluations and ongoing supplier audits.
  • Develop and lead management of key process indicators (KPIs) related to suppliers and drive formal supplier performance reviews.
  • Develop a culture of teamwork, collaboration, confidence and trust across all corporate functions to meet shared objectives.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or science, graduate degree in materials science or systems engineering a plus.
  • 10+ years experience in capital equipment sourcing.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships inside the company and with supplier partners.
  • Proven track record of applying business and marketplace knowledge and insight to guide actions within the supply chain organization.
  • Outstanding negotiation and supplier performance management skills.
  • Hands-on approach for solving problems by relying on an appropriate balance of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgement. 
  • Readily pursues new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and passion while also being able to see ahead to future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies. 
  • Flexibility to travel internationally and domestically at least one week per month.
