Content Marketing Specialist

The Content Marketing Specialist will be instrumental in elevating an already influential platform with content valued and trusted by renewable energy consumers and industry stakeholders. Our content is used by consumers to research, evaluate, select and purchase renewable energy solutions. We are committed to developing content that is relevant, influential and respected in our industry.

Harnessing your excellent written communication skills – and experience creating and implementing engaging, informative digital content – you will develop content that impacts and drives adoption of a wide range of solar and renewable energy solutions. 

Ideally, you should have some clean energy expertise, including solar. 

The Content Marketing Specialist, reporting to the Content Manager, will join the Marketing Team in Boston, MA during an exciting time in EnergySage’s expansion.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and update technical content across numerous channels and renewable energy topics to be the best player in the industry.
  • Create new leading-edge content, update existing content, and maintain impactful informational resources (blog articles, videos, info-graphics, etc.) about solar, batteries, heat pumps, EVs & EV chargers, home energy management systems, and other clean energy products. Develop compelling and accurate content for all stages of the customer lifecycle.
  • Help strengthen EnergySage’s position as the destination site for consumers researching solar. 
  • Understand and support execution of the brand’s long-term goals and strategies.
  • Conduct thoughtful and exhaustive primary and secondary research (e.g., literature search, data analysis); build relationships with key industry stakeholders (e.g., leading manufacturers, policy experts, researchers). Stay up to date and ahead of industry trends.
  • Understand and incorporate competitive positioning appropriate for target audiences.
  • Ensure appropriate reviews and approvals for all content are performed for posting, publications, and promotions. 

What we look for: 

  • Expertise in renewable energy technology, policy and industry trends. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to tailor written messages to the audience – you enjoy writing!
  • Intellectual curiosity.
  • Ability to research complex subjects and synthesize information into easy-to-understand content.
  • Experience with Wordpress (preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to present findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Working understanding and experience in content marketing and communications tactics, such as SEO, digital, and social media.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience (or educational equivalent in a clean energy-focused field of study).
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
