Job Description

Impossible Foods was founded to transform the global food system and reduce the impact of climate change by making the world’s most delicious, nutritious, and sustainable meat, fish, and dairy — from plants.
Through the revolutionary work of our world-class R&D team, we’re inventing efficient, sustainable ways to transform ingredients from plants into meat, fish, and dairy foods that deliver all the pleasures and nutritional benefits consumers demand, without the negative environmental or public health impact.
Our flagship product, Impossible™ Burger, uses 96% less land, 87% less water and generates 89% less greenhouse gas emissions than conventional beef from cows. And the burger is just the beginning. We’re working on recreating every animal product, from chicken to fish, with plant-based ingredients that are vastly better for people and the planet.
Impossible Foods has experienced spectacular growth over the last few years, and we continue to lead all aspects of the plant-based revolution – from discovery and innovation to commercial production and consumer education. We’re building an amazing team of brilliant, collaborative, mission-driven individuals who take pride in using their diverse skills to contribute to a better world. Our core values include leading with heart, thinking like scientists, and doing the right thing, and our employees embody these attributes in their work every day.
Want to join the movement? You can help us solve the most urgent, important challenge facing the world today (and have fun doing it). Check out our job opening below:
A successful marketing specialist candidate will demonstrate a passionate dedication to our mission of making the global food system sustainable. You will make an immediate, positive contribution by helping to amplify the Impossible Foods story, make the brand globally recognizable, and deeply engage consumers and the world at large. You will work on a scrappy but fun-loving, results-driven team of marketing and communications pros to raise awareness of our product and build the company brand -- while directly supporting sales through generating demand. We are specifically looking for a candidate who can be the cross-functional glue between multiple organizations. Your top priority will be overseeing and executing numerous B2C (consumer-facing) marketing initiatives, while working closely with B2B Marketing, Creative, Sales, Communications, Finance, Customer Service, Product, Legal, Business Intelligence, R&D and other departments. This role will help coordinate the end-to-end process for all consumer efforts and campaigns (including retail and food service) --- from strategy to production to in-market. The ideal candidate will have strong creative, production and organizational chops to help make incredible work. This role will report to Brand Marketing Manager. With voracious curiosity, irreverence for conventional thinking and a natural desire to challenge assumptions, you will employ an evidence-based approach to marketing -- one that begins from first principles and does not simply rely on widely accepted tactics from a traditional playbook. You will take calculated risks, measure your results and try to make every campaign more successful than the previous.

You Will:

  • Support robust, data-driven and results-oriented marketing campaigns, launches and projects, working in lockstep with B2B Marketing, Creative, Sales, Communications, Finance, Customer Service, Product, Legal, Business Intelligence, R&D and other departments.
  • Own cross-functional communication for projects, including project briefing, project updates, and wrap reports.
  • Ensure that all of our marketing initiatives are learning experiences that we can improve upon for the next time.
  • Embody the “performance marketing” mindset, incorporating testing and optimization into every campaign.
  • Review and help negotiate agency contracts (from non-disclosure agreements to scopes of work to Master Service Agreements).
  • Lead or assist in project execution by developing campaign plans, schedules, and budgets, as well as securing approvals and routing assets.
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and creative assets across all marketing touch points.
  • Work with the Digital Content + Influencer team to deploy social + digital campaigns and Influencer campaigns, respectively.
  • Partner with the Insights and Analytics team to define and measure campaign and channel performance KPIs.

You Have:

  • 1-3 years experience in marketing; emphasis on food or consumer packaged goods preferred
  • Experience with go-to-market strategy and preparing new products for launch
  • Proven track record of interpreting data + consumer insights to create meaningful campaigns, tracking and delivering on key business and campaign metrics
  • Demonstrated experience briefing, managing projects, and reporting results
  • Strong analytical acumen -- you don’t shy away from digging into data in Excel/Google Sheets in order to inform strategic decisions
  • Depth and breadth of knowledge of consumer marketing media channels, especially social + digital media
  • Strong presentation skills -- you’re comfortable making a presentation in Google Slides or Keynote, then sharing with project stakeholders
  • Excellent writing skills; you can adapt to write both business documents and creative briefs
  • Able to collaborate with multiple business owners and external partners
  • Ability to manage budgets, timelines and scopes of work

(Colorado only*) Minimum salary of  $71,500 + equity + benefits.
Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 of the minimum salary compensation for this role when being hired to work based in Colorado.
