We are looking for a detail-oriented, mission-aligned Senior Research Associate with a Biology, Microbiology, or Food Science background to join the Nutrition, Health and Food Safety team. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment. This position will support and collaborate with a diverse set of teams to improve the microbial quality and safety of our products.


You Will:

  • Lead cross-functional research projects to investigate potential impacts of microbes on the quality of intermediates and finished goods. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, QC and manufacturing teams to conduct shelf-life studies, challenge studies, and other projects on request.
  • Participate in team discussions, read relevant literature, develop new testing methods and compose reports.
  • Be able to adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Develop greater independence and responsibility.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, organized, and safe workplace.

You Have:

  • Master’s Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Food Science or related field with 2+ years of experience in food-related Microbiology OR Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Food Science or related field with 5+ years of experience in food-related Microbiology.
  • Experience in shelf life studies of perishable, refrigerated foods.
  • Excellent skills in various microbiological techniques such as culturing, isolation, and enumeration.
  • Experience in Molecular Biology (including DNA and RNA handling, PCR, qPCR, and quantification methods).
  • Experience with metagenomics data analysis is a strong plus.
  • Experience working in a BSL-2 lab is a plus.
  • A proven record of leading projects from start to finish with innovation and research efficiency. 
  • Demonstration of excellent record keeping, data management, and accountability.
  • Self-motivated to make meaningful contributions in a team environment.
