We’re using fermentation (not animals) to make dairy proteins that are the foundation for foods like ice cream, cheese and yogurt – all with the distinctive taste and textures that consumers demand, but without lactose or environmental downsides. Through partnerships with respected brands, we’re working to launch a whole range of dairy products that will help shape a humane, sustainable food system for future generations. 
Perfect Day is working to commercialize its first animal-free dairy protein products and we are seeking an intelligent, motivated, enthusiastic Lab Technician to join our Lab Services team. The ideal candidate will be driven to do what it takes to contribute to a small cross-functional team in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION:

• Maintain laboratory glassware by picking up, cleaning, washing, sterilizing, and distributing glassware throughout all labs.
• Maintain inventory and prepare reagents, buffers, and growth media for all lab teams following approved procedures using the following skills: pipetting, sterile filtration, autoclaving, plate pouring, pH adjustment, and aseptic technique.
• Prepare and sterilize lab consumables and instruments.
• Receive and maintain inventory of lab supplies and reagents throughout all laboratories.
• Assist with the disposal of hazardous chemical and biowaste materials.
• Clean and sterilize fermenters.
• Aptitude for math (dilutions, precise measurements, and recording of such)
• Other duties as assigned. 
Other functions
• Writing and editing instructional documents.
• Assisting team lead in maintaining equipment documentation.
• Training new team members.

KNOWLEDGE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Associates degree or greater in the life sciences but will consider candidates with relevant laboratory experience.
• Ability to read and follow detailed instructions and record information clearly and accurately.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in written and verbal form - fearlessness regarding asking questions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with competing priorities.
• Excellent time management skills: ability to prioritize multiple concurrent assignments and daily tasks and adjust workflow as needed.
• Computer skills: Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, SharePoint, and Teams).
• Ability to work in a team environment, collaborative.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.
• Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods at a given time; reach, climb, kneel, bend, push and/or pull, and at times lift objects as heavy as 25 lbs.
