We’ve come a long way, join us in the next step of our incredible journey! What are we looking for We currently have an opportunity for a Piping and Layout Design Engineer to join our Mechanical Design team.  The role will report directly to the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer. As a pipework design engineer, you will be responsible for pipework specifications and material classes, efficient routing, committing pipework design to drawing and performing analytical work including pipework pressurecalculations and nozzle loading. Working in close partnership with EPC contractors and other professional engineers, you'll help to design packaged plant layouts, informed by close working relationships with multi-disciplinary teams.You'll also be responsible for choosing the appropriate materials to meet design specifications and will often be involved in inspecting the work and advising contractors. Responsibilities <ul><li>Understand piping line lists, commit to design from 2D P&amp;ID with line lists to 3D CAD model piping routing and drawings for plant layout, and produce associated MTO’s and BOMs.</li><li>Prepare piping general arrangements and piping isometrics relevant to the assigned unit or area.</li><li>Evaluate and analyse all client requirements for piping, prepare necessary designs as per company piping specifications for clients noting non-conformances, and recommend appropriate alternatives and a backup plan.</li><li>Perform technical tasks assigned by Lead/Senior engineer on feasibility, conceptual, basic engineering, FEED, detailed design and EPC/ EPCM projects.</li><li>Check of allowable loads on nozzles (pumps, static equipment, etc.) as per WRC-107.</li><li>Dynamic analysis (Modal, Harmonic).</li><li>Verify piping isometrics in the reference P&amp;ID’s.</li><li>Participate in internal and external 3-D models reviews.</li><li>Knowledge of hydraulic design (flow, velocities, pressure drop).</li><li>Mechanical piping design (thickness calculation) according to ASME B31.1 / B31.3 / EN13480, etc.</li><li>Perform pipe support design for the relevant unit or area in coordination to Pipe Stress Engineer, including pipe support specification/standards.</li><li>Prepare piping and bulk material take offs (MTOs) and bill of material (BoM).</li><li>Develop piping specifications (materials classes, pipe schedule, rating of elements, jointing specifications) including insulation and thermal losses according to international standardisation.</li><li>Participate in the development of P&amp;ID’s, package specifications, construction specifications, project schedules, project budgets and construction planning.</li><li>Schedule and participate in all inspection/testing activities related to their respective piping and equipment packages.</li><li>Prepare valve data sheets and piping specialty item data sheets.</li><li>Piping Flexibility analysis according to ASME B31.1/B31.3 / EN 13480.</li><li>Prepare specification for Stress Analysis.</li><li>Prepare piping critical line list.</li><li>Liaises with Mechanical information for all matters concerning loads on equipment.</li><li>Prepares specifications, data-sheets, Material Requirements (MR’s) Technical Bid Tabulation (TBT’s) and review vendor drawings for all tagged support items.</li><li>Review support type and location indicated on the IFC isometric in accordance with approved stress isometrics.</li><li>Liaises with Lead Piping Engineer for the selection applicable standards, codes and specifications and incorporate them in job specifications.</li><li>Preparation of piping classes index and summary.</li><li>Provides input data for piping components to 3D tool database.</li><li>Prepare Material Requirement (MR) and Technical Bid Tabulation (TBT)</li><li>Prepare mechanical data for Line list and supervise all MTO activities.
