The Joby Aviation team is made up of extremely talented, hardworking, proactive, and hands-on individuals, operating in a very fast-paced and rewarding environment. Come help us build advanced VTOL components as we try to make a mark in the transportation industry!</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Work hand in hand with engineers to develop processes and tools in support of prototype builds and rapid design iteration</li> <li>Assemble hardware for use on test stands or in aircraft while maintaining associated documentation; this will involve mechanical assembly of parts and sub-systems, etc. focused on propeller systems and actuation systems</li> <li>Assist in setup and execution of development tests</li> <li>Manage the day to day operation and troubleshooting of automated test equipment</li> <li>Fabricate and assemble fixtures in support of prototype assembly and test execution</li> <li>Instrumentation of test articles (i.e. thermocouples, strain gauges, etc.) and support calibration and data capture during test</li> <li>Support training of production technicians during manufacturing transition and first article build</li></ul><h2>Required</h2><ul> <li>Able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain high standards of work</li> <li>Strong work ethic and team oriented attitude</li> <li>Strong oral and written communication skills</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving techniques and analytical ability</li> <li>Ability to read and understand schematics</li> <li>Experience with mechanical component assembly and systems integration of mechanical systems</li> <li>Proficiency with machining, welding, and overall mechanical craftsmanship</li> <li>15% travel, mostly domestic. Some international travel may be required</li></ul><h2>Desired</h2><ul> <li>Previous experience as NPI (new product introduction) or engineering technician</li> <li>Experience working on high voltage systems and/or complex electromechanical systems</li> <li>Experience with instrumentation</li> <li>Familiarity with CAD, PLM/PDM systems</li></ul><h2>Additional Information</h2><p>Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $44-$50/hr.
