In this role, you'll lead supplier negotiations, ensure "Buy America" compliance, and help deliver cost-effective, high-quality components to meet our production goals. WHAT YOU WILL DO:<ul> <li>Designing and implementing Request for Quotation (RFQ’s), tenders and auctions as appropriate </li> <li>Developing risk management strategies for targeted suppliers and commodities </li> <li>North American Bill of Material (BOM) reviews for supplier and cost correctness in conjunction with “Buy America” requirements </li> <li>Maximizing supplier competition and collaboration opportunities as appropriate </li> <li>Delivering target cost reduction and value improvement opportunities</li> <li>Supplier commercial negotiations</li> <li>Maintaining and developing relationships with all key stakeholders </li> <li>Ensuring effective management of assigned suppliers’ performance </li> <li>Identifying, introducing and developing new suppliers for commercial gain</li> <li>North American supplier set up completions</li> <li>North American price change form completions</li> <li>Work in compliance with Alexander Dennis global commodity strategy</li> <li>Invoice Price Query reconciliation support &amp; escalation point</li> <li>Other tasks as assigned by management</li> </ul> WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:<ul> <li>Minimum Three (3) years experience in a similar role within bus, aerospace, manufacturing or automotive sector</li> <li>Professional qualification in Purchasing or Supply Chain or a relevant business degree preferred</li> <li>Experience with writing contracts, contractual language, and principles is an asset </li> <li>Strong working knowledge of Materials MRP/ERP Systems</li> <li>Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is a must </li> <li>Quality and/or Supplier Management background with technical experience.</li> <li>Technical Degree or Diploma from recognizable institution.</li> <li>Relevant work experience in a similar role.</li> <li>Knowledge of supplier quality management and improvements.</li> <li>Supplier Auditing Experience.</li> <li>Proficient at reading engineering drawings / specifications etc.</li> <li>IT savvy with strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook</li> </ul> WHY JOIN OUR TEAM:<ul> <li>Generous salary package – we reward our people at the level they deserve.</li> <li>A 40-hour working week, with flexible working options, giving you that much needed work/life balance.</li> <li>Ongoing employee development through a variety of in-house training initiatives along with tuition subsidies for courses at outside institutions. </li> <li>Annual leave entitlement which increases with tenure.</li> <li>401(k) plan with company match to help you save for the future.</li> </ul> OUR WHY: We move people.
