Lead Software Engineer, Rider Support Tools

Zoox is looking for a Technical Lead to own our brand new suite of customer critical products as we transition into a public facing business. As one of its founders, you will pioneer the development of this technology from the ground up, bringing this initiative from 0 to 1. Your products will not only serve internal teams but will also have a profound impact on rider experience. Our riders and the users of these tools will become your obsession.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely across functions (product, program, operations, and user experience) to construct a realistic roadmap for these tools.
• Design purpose built, real-time tools that tackle specific use cases for Zoox.
• Lead the software architecture and system design; directly develop the most complex parts of the product with an eye towards usability, scale, and serviceability.
• Evaluate third-party components and products for inclusion in the product suite.
• Specify the technology stack to be employed in the product.
• Set the tone for a growing team; mentor and guide other software engineers in this endeavor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering, mathematics, or related field.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, set direction, make effective short/long-term tradeoffs, and iterate on solutions.
• Experience with system design and building products from scratch.
• Development experience with web-based products.
• Experience with databases.

• Advanced degree or certification.
• Experience with CRM or ERP systems.
• Experience with AWS.
• Experience with operations management.
• Experience with mobility-as-a-service and/or related products.
• Experience handling large data sets.
• Experience with live A/V streaming.

Vaccine Mandate
