The successful candidate will play a critical role in building the industry-leading BESS analytics platform and shaping our company's BESS deployment and optimization. Responsibilities <ul><li>Benchmark and enhance the company’s proprietary battery dispatch modeling platform and lead various back-cast analyses in support of market analysis, project siting, M&amp;A, and finance processes </li><li>Update the ERCOT BESS performance dashboard, analyze market conditions and bidding behaviors, track market rule changes, and recommend risk-adjusted trading strategy improvement </li><li>Execute fundamentals-based price forecast process, provide recommendation for improvement, and support the DA/RT bids formulation </li><li>Utilize internal and external (YES Energy, ISO/RTOs, ICE, etc.) data sets to develop data-driven models and drive insights regarding market trend and strategies </li><li>Collaborate with Fundamentals Analysis team in support of the long-term BESS revenue forecasts </li><li>Collaborate with trading, data science and commercial teams to conduct specific analyses  </li></ul> Qualifications  <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics or related field; advanced degree preferred </li><li>7+ years of applicable experience in optimization, production cost simulations (Dayzer, Aurora, etc.), energy markets (especially ERCOT), quantitative analysis, and/or BESS analysis </li><li>Proficiency in Python, strong understanding of data analysis techniques, ability to connect databases to modeling tools using SQL </li><li>Strong knowledge of energy markets, locational marginal price formation and congestion decomposition </li><li>Ability to explain complex technical analysis in a simplified matter to the internal management team and/or external parties </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a cross-functional environment with both technical and non-technical team members who are geographically dispersed </li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables in a dynamic, fast paced environment </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a cross-functional environment with both technical and non-technical team members who are geographically dispersed </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making </li><li>Intermediate to advanced proficiency in the Microsoft suite of tools and applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Power BI</li></ul> Compensation, Location, and BenefitsHighly competitive total compensation from one of North America’s leading energy storage developers, owners and operators.
