Thanks for your interest in joining our team!   </p><p> </p><p><strong>Key statistics: </strong></p><ul> <li>950+ Consultants </li> <li>640+ Ph.D.s </li> <li>90+ Disciplines </li> <li>30+ Offices globally </li></ul><h2>Our Opportunity</h2><p>We are currently seeking an <strong>Engineer </strong>for our <strong>Materials Science and Electrochemistry </strong>Practice in <strong>Shanghai, China.</strong>  In this role you will work as part of a team to perform analysis of materials, mechanical, and electrical failures ranging from consumer products and electronics to complex mechanical systems, as well as conducting hands-on failure analysis and planning and executing laboratory tests and simulations.</p><p> </p><h2>You will be responsible for</h2><ul> <li>Analyzing the failure of a wide variety of products via field inspections, experimental testing and engineering analysis</li> <li>Developing investigation plans using a variety of analytical equipment</li> <li>Providing failure prevention strategies</li> <li>Conducting manufacturing facility audits/evaluations to help improve quality/reduce reject rates</li> <li>Conducting design reviews on components and products</li> <li>Project management and marketing</li> <li>Communicating with clients in Asia and the U.S.</li></ul><h2>You will have the following skills and qualifications</h2><ul> <li>Ph.D. in Materials Engineering or a related discipline. Background in metallurgy or pcb manufacturing or welding will be a plus</li> <li>Written and verbal fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese</li> <li>In-depth knowledge of materials science and engineering</li> <li>Excellent hands-on engineering skills with an emphasis on material characterizations, including optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy or energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). Experience with TEM, EBSD, FIB, XPS, XRD, ICP-OES and ToF-SIMS will be a plus</li> <li>Ability to conduct an engineering investigation of defective products and determine the cause(s) of failure</li> <li>Ability to clearly communicate findings through reports and presentations</li> <li>Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated requiring minimal supervision</li> <li>Strong organizational and management skills</li> <li>Must be able to work well as part of a larger team</li> <li>The ideal candidate will have experience in performing engineering investigations and calculations of real-world problems.
