Public Affairs Manager

Do you enjoy interacting with your local community? Are you passionate about meeting new people and learning about the latest advancements in autonomous vehicle technology? The Communications team is looking for a public affairs expert who can help support and engage with various communities, including developing an overall strategy for targeted communities. This may also include supporting local community events, creating marketing collateral for local efforts, and engaging in overall community relations. This role may also lead proactive scenario planning and reactive communications plans, effectively aligning a cross-functional team toward processes and playbooks. This role requires strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and strong project management skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks within a deadline-driven environment. The ideal candidate will also have experience in developing community relations and public affairs strategies, engaging with local communities, and an ability to build strong relationships with external groups.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop the high-level strategy for community engagement and key external groups across targeted key communities.
• Craft and develop collateral needed to support education programs and campaigns for communities.
• Partner with key business partners to contribute to training materials to support field operators and brand ambassadors.
• Define and lead the local community engagement and local events strategy.
• Support community communications efforts, including serving as a company representative in local public forums.
• Define and drive talking points needed for community-specific needs. 

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of public affairs experience 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines
• Detail-oriented
• Ability to react quickly and use good judgment as needed
• Collaborative across multiple departments

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in developing field communications strategies and community relations campaigns
• Bachelors Degree
