Reliability Test Technician

As a Reliability Test Technician on Zoox’s, you will be responsible for the setup and execution of various tests on Zoox Electro-Mechanical components and sub-systems. This includes preparation of test articles, installing test equipment and instrumentation, and executing tests according to the requestor’s procedures. The Test Technician’s responsibilities will also include conducting periodic preventative maintenance on test and lab equipment, fabrication of test setups, ensuring lab consumables are stocked and up to date, and general lab upkeep. Testing will be required on various systems to evaluate system performance, noise and vibration, thermal characterization, strength, and durability. You will utilize your expertise in one or more of these areas to support these testing activities, and work closely together with the responsible engineering lead.
Vaccine RequirementThe Reliability Test Technician is required to be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. An applicant is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine. Applicants will be required to show proof of vaccination status upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment. That conditional offer of employment will be conditioned upon, among other things, an Applicant’s ability to show proof of vaccination status. Please note the Company provides reasonable accommodations in accordance with applicable state, federal and local laws. 

Responsibilities

• Execute test activities accurately and thoroughly
• Support the alignment of test facilities for test requests
• Install test instrumentation on test articles per instrumentation diagrams
• Support procurement and calibration of test equipment as necessary
• Maintains, repairs, install and troubleshoot Electrical equipment
• Fabricate and Assemble test fixtures and wiring harness as necessary supporting the cross-functional teams
• Maintain workshop space to a high professional level in terms of safety, efficiency, and cleanliness
• Ability to plan and organize work without oversight or direction

Qualifications

• Bachelors or technical degree
• Experience working with automotive development environments
• Experience working with test equipment in one or more areas like thermal, strength, and durability
• Mechanical fabrication experience (wiring harness and test fixtures)

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Thermal Chamber and Vibe table Testing
• Knowledge of Python or other programming languages
• Experience with HV components testing
• Experience working with test equipment in areas such as NVH, vehicle dynamics

Vaccine Mandate
Employees working in this position will be required to have received a single dose of the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine OR have completed the two-dose Pfizer or Moderna vaccine series. In addition, employees will be required to receive a COVID-19 booster vaccine by the earlier of (1) April 15 or (2) within two months of becoming eligible for the booster vaccine.
