Technical Program Manager, Service Engineering

Zoox is developing autonomous driving from the ground up, including creating a unique vehicle tailored to autonomous driving. The Base Operations team at Zoox supports all fleet-level maintenance and repair operations. This includes the backend engineering support team that delivers various aspects of technical content and support, with a key focus on improving operational efficiencies. 
The Service Engineering Technical Program Manager will work closely with operational leaders and cross-functional teams to define project details, including resourcing plans and component readiness, to create project timelines. There will be a focus on product configuration management, Service Bill of Material (SBOM) integrity, maintenance and repair timing validation, component readiness, and milestone planning. This role will be deeply engaged in initiatives across our vehicle platforms and will have high visibility across many teams at Zoox. 

Responsibilities

• Track safety initiatives across the Base Operations team, and work closely with team leaders to drive resolution
• Working with operational team leaders and cross-functional teams, optimize the overall maintenance and repair process to streamline day-to-day operations
• Track defined metrics to steer leadership decisions that will benefit the org and company by way of increased efficiency / acceleration towards goals
• Work with department managers and operational leaders to translate the top-down corporate strategy and milestones into team-specific road maps, timelines, and deliverables
• Establish reports to provide concise and practical communications to key stakeholders on project status, issues/risks, and accomplishments
• Ensure problems are transparent and risks are identified, and proactively ensure that risk-mitigating actions are ongoing within the engineering and operational teams
• Support key decisions working cross-functionally across operations, engineering, finance, and strategy to reach the correct conclusions

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in engineering, program management, or management consulting
• BS or MS or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability
• Proficient in tools required to manage complex projects (i.e., Gantt charts, Jira, Confluence)
• Strong track record in managing complex cross-functional projects
• Strong references that highlight your ability to build strong working relationships with leaders and engineers across functions and departments
• An ability to keep the big picture in focus and to provide clear, well-structured, and concise communications tailored to each appropriate audience

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience in product development at all stages; product ideation, design, release, prototyping, validation, launch, production, and maintenance
• PMP certification or equivalent
• Experience in a highly dynamic start-up environment
