This role involves extensive data collection, data collation, and research analysis using secondary sources, such as reports, databases, and public disclosures. You will work closely with a collaborative team, contributing to key insights that shape strategies and policy recommendations for accelerating renewable energy financing. The ideal candidate should be patient, meticulous, and have prior experience in collecting and managing data for research purposes. Working as part of a remote team in India, you’ll be expected to be able to communicate effectively with other members of the team over a variety of mediums (video calls, G-suite, ClickUp etc.), be comfortable with raising issues or questions along the way, and provide insights into your work. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist in primary and secondary research to collect financing data and related information on green / renewable energy projects, companies, and financial institutions.</li><li>Collate, organize, and clean data from multiple sources into structured formats (e.g., Excel, databases).</li><li>Analyze trends, policies, instruments, and players in the renewable energy finance ecosystem.</li><li>Support the preparation of research notes, datasets, reports, and presentations.</li><li>Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of collected data.</li><li>Participate actively in team discussions, brainstorming sessions, and reviews.</li><li>Maintain organized documentation of all data sources and research activities.</li><li>Stay updated on developments in climate finance, energy transition, and green investments.</li></ul> Requirements<ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Energy Studies, Public Policy, Management, CFA, or related fields.</li><li>Prior experience in data collection and secondary research (academic or professional).</li><li>Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, and data organization tools.</li><li>Ability to read, understand, and extract relevant information from complex reports and datasets.</li><li>High attention to detail, accuracy, and patience in data-driven work.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.</li><li>Team player with the ability to work independently when required.</li><li>Commitment to IEEFA’s mission to accelerate the transition to a diverse, sustainable and profitable energy economy.</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Experience in or understanding of corporate sustainability reporting standards would be an advantage.</li><li>Interest in renewable energy, climate finance, and sustainable development.</li><li>Familiarity with visualization tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Tableau) or statistical tools (e.g., Stata, R, Python).</li></ul>  Compensation and Benefits6-month fixed-term internship contract at a market competitive remuneration.   Work Schedule5 days/week with occasional evening or weekend work as required.
