RESPONSIBILITIES:The Transportation Supervisor will be the direct supervisor of the drivers. Supervision of the driving workforce will be done one on one, as well as in groups. This position will assist and conduct hiring, training, and disciplining of drivers. The primary objective is to assist the driving workforce in picking up empty bottles and cans at the retail customer locations. This must be accomplished in the most productive and cost effective manner possible. This person will work closely with the transportation manager, dispatcher, and driver workforce.Tasks will include but are not limited to the following:<ul><li>Conduct pre-shift meetings for driver workforce</li><li>Communicating with other departments supervisors and managers</li><li>Provide summaries to dispatcher</li><li>Identify driver issues and provide corrective actions</li><li>Report drivers over 10 hours to GM on daily basis</li><li>Update customer information</li><li>Recommend operational improvements, including route changes</li><li>Review key operating indicators</li><li>Provide daily production report to General Manager</li><li>Manage, evaluate, engage team drivers</li><li>DOT/OSHA compliance</li><li>All daily Payroll functions</li><li>Validate equipment within our commercial vehicles is active and compliant</li><li>Work with safety manager to identify drivers for risk based on vehicle data</li><li>Ensures DOT requirements are met<ul><li><ul><li>Ensures physicals and randoms are completed as required</li><li>Maintain all DOT files and logs</li></ul></li></ul></li></ul>
